Canon 200mm F/2.8L Prime Lens | Oldies But Goodies
Today on OBG (Oldies But Goodies) we are going to be taking a look at an older piece of Canon L glass that you prime lens shooters out there may want to consider picking up. That lens is the Canon EF 200mm F/2.8L USM, a lens which has been replaced in Canon’s lineup by the newer Canon 200mm F/2.8L II USM.
Canon USA Makes Significant Changes to CPS
Canon Professional Services (CPS) is a membership program available to professional users of Canon equipment. In order to qualify for CPS a member must have a certain amount of products which Canon deems “professional” this includes lenses, cameras, and other Canon equipment. For each item that you have you receive a certain amount of CPS points which qualifies you for one of three different levels of CPS membership.
Magic Lantern Announces Improved 5D III and 7D Dynamic Range
The team over at Magic Lantern has really been on a tear lately with all of the awesome new features that are adding to Canon cameras. The latest of which is the news they released today that they have increased the dynamic range of the 5D mark III and the 7D by 3 stops. So on the 5D Mark III that means a total of 14 stops of dynamic range, pretty impressive.
Canon 50D for Video? Get one while you still can!
According to a post over on EOSHD the 5 year old Canon 50D is now (Thanks to Magic Lantern) a cinema camera capable of shooting RAW 1080 video. That is quite a feat considering that the 50D most people own does not even have a video mode.

Canon 5D Mark III Firmware Incoming April 30th to Include Clean HDMI and Improved Autofocus
Canon’s 5D Mark III is set to be getting a nice upgrade in the coming weeks. It was announced back in October of 2012 that the new firmware was coming, but there was no news as to when. Canon recently updated their 5D Mark III page and it includes the scheduled date for the firmware upgrade, April 30th 2013 (11 Days from now).

I, like most of you, have never even touched a leica but I assumed the image quality and features were top notch for such a price. That was until I saw these latest rankings courtesy of DxOMark in which the Leica M9, M9 P, and M-E Typ 220 earned really bad scores when compared to other DSLRs.
