Lighting Week | Off-Camera Flash + Water Fountain

When settling into a new location, such as the water fountain near the Walt Disney Concert Hall, be sure to dial in your settings before directing your subjects into a pose. Make necessary adjustments to properly expose the ambient light (according to your vision/goal) and determine whether or not you’ll add a flash, etc. This will keep your subjects more relaxed and save time overall.

For our water fountain shot, we used two speedlights, placing one in front of the subjects at camera right, and another behind the subjects to separate them from the background.
