Body Shape Comparison of the World’s Top Athletes

By Hanssie on November 15th 2013

Athletes come in all shapes and sizes. In his book, Athlete, Howard Schatz compares athletes from around the world and their different physiques. From huge football players to tiny ice skaters, putting them side by side offers a look at the different forms the human body can be shaped.

Back when this book was published, these athletes were some of the most celebrated in their sport. Their physiques are so varied, but each person’s body type is the ideal form to excel in their respective sport. Which means, that the good news is I don’t need that six pack and be tall after all to excel at a sport. Hand-eye coordination though, is another matter and something I still lack unfortunately.

It is skillz that matter and less the shape of the body seems like. That and the type of sport practiced I guess
