Tamron Lenses

This is SLR Lounge’s complete library of Tamron lens reviews, covering Tamron’s growing lineup of Di III lenses for Sony E-mount and other mirrorless systems.

The majority of our Tamron coverage is written by Matthew Saville, who has tested Tamron’s lenses across portrait, landscape, and wedding shooting scenarios. Tamron has become one of the most compelling reasons to invest in Sony’s E-mount ecosystem — their lenses consistently deliver professional optical performance at prices that undercut first-party Sony G and GM equivalents significantly.

Our Tamron reviews focus on real-world performance: how these lenses handle autofocus under pressure, how they hold up for wide-angle landscape work, and whether the price-to-performance ratio genuinely justifies choosing Tamron over Sony’s own offerings. In most cases, the answer is yes for photographers who prioritize value without sacrificing quality.

An excellent starting point is our Tamron 35-150mm f/2-2.8 Review, which Matthew called the ultimate portrait lens, or the Tamron 17-50mm f/4 Review for wide-angle work on a budget.
