Why Use Illumination?
Why use artificial illumination when photographing the Milky Way? While compositing is another option, artificial illumination provides a number of advantages:
- Better image quality: At high ISOs, image quality suffers; artificial lighting allows for lower ISOs
- Allows you to shape light direction
- Faster than shooting and then compositing
