Try pulling your subject off of your background to send it into a blur and exclude strong shadows. Watch as we direct Heath to step into the light that we desire for the shot. Different types of lighting setups will alter the appearance of your subject:

  • Broad lighting: the broad side of the subject’s face is lit, which means that more of the face is in light giving the face less structure and less shadow
  • Short lighting: shadows are wrapped around the hollows of the face, contouring the face with light and providing a flattering visual
