Posing Nuances

In order to completely sell an image, body language must be on point, and nuances like staggered hand placement and eye direction should complement the pose. If body language is off, the image may not be salvageable, and uncontrolled nuances like mirrored posing could distract from the subject(s); however, there is one thing to keep in mind when shooting journalistically, when you are unable to direct the moment: “Expression trumps all.” This really goes without saying, but be sure to position yourself to best capture the expressions that will tell the story and sell the image.
