Outdoor Reception – Daylight | Reflector Pin Lighting
Using a reflector for pin lighting is great when shooting in broad daylight, but you will probably need an assistant. Here are the steps and considerations for using a reflector this way:
- Shoot from the shadows: Frame and compose
- Set desired exposure
- Add to existing light direction
- Silver (bright) vs. white (fill)
- Analyze with highlight alert
However you choose to light your subjects (details), keep the lighting consistent. Try not to jump from using a reflector to a flash to a constant light in a single scene. Choose your modification tool and try to stick to it. Doing so will help you create a more cohesive set of images, which will look better when published on a blog or printed across a spread in an album.
