Wedding Workshop Five | Photographing the Ceremony: Our Favorite Lenses Among 10,000 Wedding Photographs
Our Favorite Lenses Among 10,000 Wedding Photographs
We looked through 10,000 wedding images, specifically ceremony images, and found we used these lenses the most:
- 24-70mm Zoom – 68%: While some photographers prefer to carry two camera bodies while shooting, one with a wide prime lens and another with a tighter prime lens, the versatility of the 24-70mm Zoom is great for getting in and out of areas quickly and minimizes the time you’ll need to step in front of guests to capture important moments.
- 70-200mm Telephoto – 27%: This telephoto lens is a go-to for 2nd-shooter positions and definitely leads the way for less invasive lenses.
- TS-E (24/90) – 2%: These lenses allow for great creative shots, especially for bright and airy ceremony coverage.
- 24/35/50/85 Primes – 3%: Primes are great, but focus can be slow for the fast pace of wedding ceremonies
