How To Predict And See The Milky Way
Apps like Sun Surveyor will help you predict and see the Milky Way. They utilize your camera when used in live view to help you compose your image. It also helps to go over a final countdown checklist:
- Set camera to full RAW
- Stable tripod position, legs securely locked
- Weigh/tie down tripod in windy conditions
- Ball head knobs, etc. tightened down
- Camera LCD brightness all the way down, Histogram on
- Check camera settings, lens zoom, and focus
