Wedding Season Is Coming…

By Hanssie on April 16th 2015

The weather is warming up, the flowers are blooming, the birds are chirping and women everywhere have spent the last few months scurrying about pinning, creating, booking and dieting in anticipation for the day they’ve been dreaming about all of their lives; their wedding day. That’s right, folks. Are you ready for wedding season?

Scrolling through my Facebook feed trying to forget my astronomical tax bill yesterday, one of my friends posted the following Buzzfeed video, “Wedding Season Is Coming.” It’s a hilarious take on people whose friends are all getting married. Oh, the horror.

So, are you ready for wedding season? Here at SLR Lounge, we are about to go into production for a wedding photography DVD, Pye and Justin are gearing up for their Wedding 101 and 201 workshops in the Bahamas (one spot left!), and the studio is already shooting away, with weddings booked practically every weekend until late fall.

To get you ready for wedding season, here are a few of our popular wedding related articles and videos on SLR Lounge.

1. THE GREATEST LESSON I’VE LEARNED IN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY | THE IMPORTANCE OF FAMILY PHOTOS

2. 6 MUST-HAVE LENSES FOR WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

This article was written in 2009, revamped a year ago, and it’s almost ready for another update. We give a subjective list of 6 must have lenses for any given wedding. It should be noted that we have a bias for shooting wide open (low apertures) in most situations and though we list Canon gear, because that’s what we shoot, each lens listed should have an equivalent for every other brand name DSLR producer.

Jeff and Lori from Indigo Silver Studio have a unique pricing strategy that works well for them, and they share three tips with us in this recent interview with Pye.

4. WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY: BEING AN INTROVERT IN AN EXTROVERT PROFESSION

For all the introverts out there, wedding season is even more exhausting. Here are some tips on how to cope during this busy, people filled season.

Yes, wedding season!! The best season of the year :)

I’ve just bought the SLR Lounge guide to social media and SEO. I really need to get more customers, and so getting my online strategy to the next level is one of the preps I’m doing. This marketing thing is a real challenge…

Yes! Just getting your name out there is a tough climb, but once your brides fall in love with you, they start talking about you to everyone. It’s wise to not only beef up your online presence but creating happy, talkative clients!

Good luck and let us know how you like the book! I’ve picked up a bunch of pointers to use in my articles here :)
