Lightroom 4 Vivid Landscape Standard Color Preset

Today we bring you guys yet another Lightroom 4 Preset System Mixology episode! In this LR4 Mixology tutorial, we will be showing you how and in which situations we like to use the 21 Vivid Landscape Color Preset. In addition, we will also be showing you the recipe using the LR4 Preset System, just to help you guys get a better idea of how to create your own Mixologies with a few simple clicks. This preset Mixology is great for those landscape images where you really want details to pop. It also works great on environmental portraits where the models are smaller in the frame and you want an overall high contrast, colorful look. This preset is included in the Presets 1.1 update under 21 Standard Color in the Vivid | Landscape category in your My Mixology Folder.

A Brief Note on the MY MIXOLOGY Folder

The Lightroom 4 Preset System is extremely powerful because it allows you to create a virtually endless variety of looks with just a few simple clicks which you can then save to your 00 MY MIXOLOGY Folder. In each of these episodes, we will create one of these looks with just a few clicks, then we will save it out as a new Mixology in MY MIXOLOGY. We are going to cover a variety of styles and effects, so feel free to name and organize your MY MIXOLOGY folder contents however you like, as that folder is designed to be your personal space for all your favorite mixologies.

Mixology Recipe

For those that don’t want to watch the video, here are the steps to achieve this effect using the Lightroom 4 Preset System. As always, start with the Standard Import Preset which should be applied to each image when you first bring it into LR4 before applying the settings below:

1. BASE ADJUSTMENTS –> 14 Light HDR (Base Tones)
2. BASE ADJUSTMENTS –> 23 Light Boost Detail
3. BASE ADJUSTMENTS –> 33 Light Boost (Contrast)
4. NEUTRAL CURVES –> 31 Ivory

That’s it! Now just save it out in your MY MIXOLOGY folder with a cool name of your liking and you are done!

    I just got these and they are great..very nice.

    I only have LR3.6 because LR4 RC-2 was just too buggy for me so some of the presets don’t actually. work but I’m looking forward to getting full use when i upgrade!
