Vintage G-Rated Playboy Covers

When you hear the word “Playboy,” you probably think of a men’s magazine with young, sexy women and hints of bunnies. But what most people don’t know, is there was a time when Playboy was a bit more “G-rated.”

Playboy, created by American magazine publisher Hugh Hefner, was founded in 1953, and was started as a small “men’s entertainment” magazine. Little did Hefner know was that Playboy would find national success as one of the largest-recognized brand in America.

While playboy is known for it’s racy and provocative images, there was a time when it was a bit more tame. Here are some of the vintage retro covers, that were dug up from a more “G-Rated” era.
