Fall – it’s the season of pumpkin spice lattes, cool crisp air, and multi-colored trees that we all love to photograph. Here in Southern California, we don’t get to experience much of Fall, but enjoy the lattes just the same. One photographer traveled all the way to Croatia and Slovenia to capture “The Harmony of Fall,” in the following time-lapse.

Shot by Enrique Pacheco in 6K and 7K RAW still images, he allows the simple beauty of these countries to shine in the time-lapse video below. This time-lapse is breathtakingly perfect in its simplicity. The reflections of the lake, the islands engulfed by huge monasteries, the ever-changing colors of the forests while the fog rolls through, these were the images that Pacheco imagined when he was planning this film, which is why it took him three Autumns to plan and create. Yes, there were many places around this world with beautiful forests, but Pacheco just knew that to finish his project, it must be done in these two countries.

Specifically, he traveled to KRKA National Park, Croatia, Plitvice National Park, Croatia, Lake Bled, Slovenia, and Triglav National Park, Slovenia. Each location, a photographer’s dream, captured in the soft Autumn light. Choosing to do this project alone, Pacheco chose his kit based on size and weight. He brought a Sony A7 and Sony A7R for its 4K capabilities, three Sony Zeiss lenses for their lightness and versatility: the 16-35mm f/4, the 70-200mm f/4, and the Zeiss ZF2 21mm f2.8, a motorized slider, and Benro filters. The simple piano score adds to the melodic harmony of this 3-minute time-lapse.
