Tamron SP 24-70 f/2.8 Di USD Now Available for Sony Mounts

By Anthony Thurston on April 30th 2013

Tamron has announced that their wildly popular and critically acclaimed SP 24-70 f/2.8 Di USD lens is now available for Sony mount cameras. Previously the lens was only available in Canon and Nikon mounts.

I recently took a look at the lens on my Nikon camera, and once my initial issues were figured out I loved the lens. It’s sharp, fast AND quiet focusing, and is very well-built. If you shoot Sony cameras and are looking for a great 24-70mm lens I highly suggest that you look into this lens.

If you are curious and want to know more about the lens you can check out its scores on DxOMark, or watch the video review that I placed below. I am working on my full review of the lens and will be releasing that sometime soon hopefully, so stay tuned for that.

Great lens. One of the best performers out there but it just doesn’t make any sense to pay the same MSRP for less. (I know no VC because of inbody IS) Sony’s in body IS sounds tempting but because of A mount lens pricing. I don’t even think about converting :)
