When it comes to lenses on the wide side of the spectrum, one brand that I have always personally really liked is Tokina. Their lenses are built like tanks, and have great performance across the board, which makes me really excited about their latest announcement, the new 11-20mm F/2.8 PRO DX lens.

AT-X 70-200mm f/4 PRO FX VCM-S Lens Announced By Tokina
There have been a lot of new gear being announced over the last week or two, and today, I have another interesting lens announcement, this time from Tokina. Earlier, Tokina announced their new AT-X 70-200mm f/4 PRO FX VCM-S lens.
New Tokina 24-70mm F/2.8 Lens Spotted at CP+
It appears that Tokina is looking working on a new 24-70mm F/2.8. While not yet officially announced, they have the lens on display at CP+ in Japan. Tamron released their 24-70mm offering last year featuring image stabilization, and later this year Sigma is expected to announce a new 24-70 F/2 lens. It seems by the end of 2014 we will have several good third party options in the 24-70mm focal range.
Tokina Develops New Rain Dispersion “Rain-X” Lens Filters
Tokina has developed new rain dispersion technology in a new filter which they hope to release sometime over the next year. The filters are designed for broadcast cameras but there may still be a DSLR use for those of you with a step up ring.
