Bespoke or Bling? $5,000 Hasselblad Lunar Rebrands Sony NEX-7
One of Hasselblad’s claim to fame is being the first camera NASA used in their lunar exploration. To pay homage and as the first step of its new partnership with Sony, Hasselblad introduced the Lunar, a $5,000 bespoke mirrorless camera with the innards of a Sony NEX-7. Taking a page from the coachbuilding industry in the automotive world (Zagato as an example), Hasselblad’s Lunar can be fitted with a variety of exotic materials, from carbon fiber and precious metals to Italian leather and rare wood.
Leica’s Triple Barrage & Apple Special: The Leica M, M-E, and S
Leica released not one, but three high-end cameras in Photokina, the M-E, the M, and the new S. Out of the three, the new M is the most revolutionary since it is the first Leica M series to use a CMOS sensor instead of a CCD sensor. The M-E is a stripped down version of the older M9.
