Stunning Image of Sunrise From the ISS, Share Your Sunrise Photos!

By Anthony Thurston on November 10th 2013

If there was ever a photographic advantage to being stationed on the International Space Station (ISS) it would have to be during the sunrise/sunset hours. Proving that point yet again, Astronaut Karen Nyberg tweeted this amazing photo of the sunrise from the deck of the ISS.

There is something about this vantage point that I really love. It might have to do with the fact that you simply can’t get this shot from anywhere on earth, not from the highest peak of the highest mountains. The closest you could probably get to this would be flying at high altitudes in a spy jet of some kind, and even then this has you beat.

That is not to say that photos of sunrises and sunsets from earth can not be amazing, many are. But they are so common and somewhat easy to capture that I feel like they loose their luster. Ill never get tired of great shots from space like this one. That said, I want to see what you guys have to offer!
