One of the big announcements out of Photokina this year was the Sigma 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Sports lens. Somewhat surprisingly though, Sigma is hailing this new lens as the flagship of its Sportsline, which admittedly only includes one other lens (the 120-300mm F/2.8).
The following video does a great job of highlighting and overviewing the lens for those who are interested in it, and those curious to see why it has such a hefty pricetag.
As a sports and wildlife shooter, this lens is so interesting to me. I am just curious to see how it does optically, compared to similar lenses like the Tamron 150-600mm. The “pro” features of the lens are very tempting, from the weather sealing, to the more advanced optical design. I can’t wait to get my hands on one.

This lens looks seriously interesting, the price point looks “acceptable” even attractive assuming the lens delivers results that reflect the sales pitch – would love to try it out !.
I will need to add this one to my kit
Should’ve taken this baby on my safari!
The 120-300mm you had is a pretty awesome lens, how did that end up working out for the Safari?
Video removed. I really wanted to see this.
Ughh, seriously? That has happened to me twice now today…
Ok, found it on Youtube… apparently they changed the vimeo version’s privacy settings :/
Thanks for getting it fixed Anthony. I’m intrigued.
