Rokinon Xeen Cinema Kit

Rokinon has a killer deal going on right now on their entire lineup of cinema glass. You can save $300 if you buy one of these lenses individually, but if you want the whole three lens kit, you can save a whopping $1500!

These Xeen lenses are Rokinon’s entry into the high-quality cinema lens market, and so far the reviews have been great. They come in 24mm, 50mm, and 85mm focal lengths, and they all feature a T-stop of 1.5 making them extremely fast lenses. They are also fairly cheap by cinema lens standards, so if you are looking to get some good cinema glass for a good price, don’t let this deal pass you by. Get the kit deal over on B&H here.

ASUS AC2400 Wireless Dual-Band Gigabit Router

As much as we all like to push print sales and physical products, that fact is that many clients still like to view and receive digital copies of their images. This means uploading images to online galleries like CloudSpot or Shootproof for viewing and delivery to the clients.

Beyond that, many of you also have offsite backup solutions, which are made possible via an Internet connection. But with all the data that we need to push, especially as our image sizes get larger, it can be a lot for a basic router to handle. Which is why you may think about upgrading to a higher power solution that can handle your image uploads quickly, as well as your kid’s Netflix or online gaming. This Asus AC2400 is a great option, and right now you can save $48 over on B&H here.

The speed of your router is pretty rarely an issue for anything online… that’s usually gated by your internet connection speed. Ok, if you have Google Fiber, you might need a new router, and probably not this one. More to the point is your in-home/in-office speed. If you’re counting on wireless for large file transfers, viewing video direct from the camcorder, etc. that will work better with a faster router… in a busy environment, expect actual speed to be at router-max / (2 ×:number-of-computers).. or worse, if not all those computers go at full speed. Not a problem with wired connections run to a GigE switch.
