The Photographer Series by Andrew Norton tells the stories behind some of skateboardings most epic images and the dudes who made them.
I remember driving around the corner and seeing the quarter pipe and being like, ‘Wow.’ Cause it was bigger than a house. I remember rolling up to that and just laughing.
The Photographer Series: Mike Blabac
Mike Blabac possibly has the best job in skateboarding. He has been the staff photographer for DC Shoes for over a decade and is still passionate about what he does. Thanks to his position with DC, Blabac gets to shoot with some of the best guys in skating. Not only that, but he has pretty much shot the career of Danny Way, who jumped the great Wall of China, the historic jump that almost ended in disaster.
He has also been known for his connection to one of the country’s favorite, and tragically lost, skateboarding locations: Philidephia’s Love Park. In its prime, Blabac documented some of the skateboarding industry’s most iconic moments.
