It is sort of odd for a company to announce products right at the end, or shortly after a big show like CP+, but that is exactly what Panasonic has done. Today, the company announced two new lenses for their Micro Four-Thirds system cameras: a 42.5mm F/1.7 and an 30mm F/2.8 OIS Macro.
Both new lenses are expected to begin shipping in May for a price of $399 (both lenses are the same price). Neither lens is available for pre-order just yet, but stay tuned and we will keep you updated once they are made available for pre-order.

There you have it; Panasonic with a two lens announcement right after the end of CP+. Personally, neither lens really excites me all that much, but both seem to be very affordable, and fill nice spaces in the Panasonic lineup, so I am sure that they will be well received. Both the 42.5mm F/1.7 and the 30mm F/2.8 OIS Macro are now available for pre-order.
What are your thoughts on these new announcements from Panasonic? Would you be interested in adding one of these to your Micro Four-Thirds kit? Leave a comment below and let us know what you think!
