Olympus OMD E-M5 II Officially Announced | First Look From CSTV

By Anthony Thurston on February 5th 2015

This is one of those product announcements that everyone knew was coming, and in fact, as early as several days ago, we basically already knew everything about the camera. Still, that doesn’t dissipate the excitement of an official announcement.

Today, Olympus officially unveiled the new E-M5 Mark II, the next step in their M4/3 series of cameras, and an impressive offering at that. Featuring an upgraded 16MP sensor, and a unique sensor shifting technology that allows for up to 40MP files, the E-M5 Mark II is now one of the most advanced M 4/3 offerings on the market.

Camera Store TV OMD E-M5 Mark II First Look Review

The guys over at The Camera Store TV have already had their hands on the new Olympus OMD E-M5 Mark II, and they launched their review soon after the official announcement. You can check it out below.

I am very impressed with what I am seeing from the Olympus; it’s getting harder and harder to be loyal to a single camera brand these days. All of the cool technology that each company is bringing, and offering, it’s difficult not to want everything.

The price of this Olympus is not bad either. Coming it at about $1,000, it is still very affordable and a great option for anyone looking to get into the interchangeable lens game.

If you are interested in pre-ordering the Olympus OMD E-M5 Mk II, you can do so now over at B&H. Do so and you will be one of the first to get it.

Really tempted, I have an old PEN – 1 that I love and have been thinking of upgrading. For this price, I might just pull the trigger.

I started photography back in the 70s with the OM-1 and this lives up to the original pedigree.
