Photographer Martin Usborne’s series “Nice To Meet You” is an interesting take on portraits on abandoned dogs. Martin talks on his website about how the series is about the voicelessness of animals, about their hidden pains and silent needs that so many people are oblivious to.
Each portrait in this series is an image of a dog shot through some sort of material or substance, be it wet glass, fog, etc. Nearly all of the dogs featured in the series had been abandoned by their human owners. Martin notes that each dog was handled with extreme care and was protected from any possible harm throughout the shooting process.
You can check out the full series on his website and enjoy a small selection of my favorite from the shoot below.
