Pentax has a bit of history releasing cameras with insane amounts of color options, and they did not disappoint with the release of their new Q-S1 mirrorless camera. The new Q-S1 comes with over 40 different color variations to choose from. Don’t like black or silver, why not try pink or maybe burgundy?
In all seriousness though, I doubt the color options are what you are interested in, so let’s take a look at the important bits. The Q-S1 comes with 12.1mp back illuminated CMOS sensor, which should help with low light performance a bit, which tops out at 12800 ISO.

Are the protective cases for these out already?
I wonder if they’re getting this idea for different colors from ebay? I see vintage film cameras being refurbished and recovered in different colored leather. Maybe it’s from all the different protective cases you can put on your smart phone? I just wish they’d start making these cameras with viewfinders.
I don´t see the point in providing so many different color options. Two options make it easier for both the manufacture and the clients who will have interest into buying it.
Quite the contrary, IMO. It doens’t cost much to paint a couple parts, and people will buzz about it and pick a camera to match all kinds of things from their wardrobe to their business branding. I think it’s a brilliant idea!

Good point Matt. Hadn’t considered the branding aspect.
