It’s been a while since I highlighted a good timelapse video. So I figured that a lazy Sunday would be a great opportunity for you all to sit and really enjoy this one.
It’s called ‘Navarre, The Land of Light’ and it is a stunning video (with music to match!) highlighting the beautiful landscapes of Navarre. If you, like me, had no idea where Navarre is located, it is a small autonomous community in northern Spain.
Besides the beautiful work of the timelapse itself, one of the things that drew me to this video was the gear used to create it. Unlike the Canon and Nikon dominated gear lists of timelapse creators in the US (an over-generalization, yes), this video was put together entirely using Sony bodies.
- Sony A37
- Sony A850
- Sony A7R
- Various Sony/Minolta lenses
As you can see, only one of the cameras used was a ‘trendy’ full frame mirrorless camera. The others were good old Sony A-Mount rigs; a great reminder of the amazing things you can do with Sony’s A-Mount system. It’s easy to forget, given the all the hype around the FE mount system currently.
As always, I find myself incredibly inspired to go out and do a timelapse project now. Which will last all of about 30 minutes when I realize that I would need to spend my lazy Sunday out in the boonies with a ton of gear. Maybe some day, maybe…
