Graphic design student Zsófia Berényi delves into the psychology of human emotion and prejudice in her new series, My Fears. Using neighbors from her neighborhood in Sopron, Hungary, Zsófia approached the subject of projected fears through portraiture. In some images, the focus falls on the eyes, the windows of the soul, almost asking if we would really fear or hate if we dared to truly know each other.
“My concept was to create photos to show the deepest fears of the people inside. These pictures are about our own prejudices that we have about other people, our fears that we project to others. These people could be nice and kind in reality, but we do not see it.” ~ Zsófia Berényi
