Managing Shades of Black in your Post Production

By Anthony Thurston on July 8th 2013

Black is Black and White is White……. right? When it comes to photography the answer is no. When you take a picture there are different shades of black, as well as white, and how you manage those shades in your post-production will have a huge impact on your final product.

Mark Wallace and Adorama put together this awesome video on managing your shades of black in Adobe Lightroom. If you are curious about how to optimize your shades of black for the optimal effect then check this video out for some great tips. I use these same techniques when editing my own images; I choose one of the SLR Lounge Lightroom Presets that I want and then I modify it to taste using the same methods that Mark talks about in this video.
