Maddie the Coonhound – Dogs Gone Viral

By Lauren Kermelis on December 3rd 2013

Family Pets

We all love showing off our pets. From dressing them up for holidays, to including them into our family portrait, our pets are part of the family…don’t they deserve to be in our photos too? With the rise of social media and instagram, owners can now proudly show off their pets frequently, and many times they go viral.

This Wild Idea

Pet Owner, Theron Humphrey, never had any idea how popular his dog Maddie would be when he decided he was going to start a side project of creative photos with her while traveling across the country. Humphrey was working on a photo project, entitled “This Wild Idea,” an on-the-road documentary that brought together people and their life stories across America. What he didn’t know was that Maddie the Coonhound, was gaining worldwide popularity at a rapid pace.

Theron never intended for his dog to be known nationally. Maddie’s photos were discovered, turned into a book, and then recognized by National Geographic as the travel story of the year.

More of Maddies photos can be viewed on Humphrey’s instagram.

I was wondering the same thing. Someone will. But definitely not me. Great photo’s. What a well trained doggy, and an obviously happy one.
