Lensbaby Expands Offering With Native Fuji X-Mount Lenses

By Anthony Thurston on June 2nd 2015

Fuji shooters have something to be happy about this morning. It has just been announced that Lensbaby has added the Fuji X-Mount to their list of supported mounts, meaning most of Lensbaby’s lenses will now be available with a native Fuji X-Mount.

Lensbaby Velvet 56

Fuji X shooters are a passionate community of photographers who have been asking for a native mount Lensbaby for some time now,” said Craig Strong, Lensbaby Co-founder & Chief Creative Officer.  “I’m happy to announce that our core products, including Velvet 56, Composer Pro and Circular Fisheye are now available in Fuji X mount.

The move is a long time coming and now allows for Fuji shooters to use those creative Lensbaby optics without any annoying adapters. It could also be a sign of things to come as Lensbaby expands to include more mirrorless mounts in the future. I have used Lensbaby on my old X-T1 and let me tell you, with Fuji‘s wonderful manual focus aids, it was a great experience – one that was only marred by the adapter I had to use.

If you shoot Fuji and have been enjoying the imagery you see coming out of Lensbaby, I can’t recommend these enough. They aren’t for everyone or even every situation, but if you like the look and take the time to learn how to use them, you can get some pretty incredible and creative imagery.

You can find all of the new Fuji X-Mount Lensbaby products now over on B&H. They are in stock and available to ship out right away, so no pre-order needed.

I find Fuji’s lenses plenty sharp & I don’t see Sigma showing significant saving over the native offerings.
