I love Lensbaby, some of the unique looks and effects that you can get out of these little lenses can be so magical. So, imagine my surprise when I discovered that there were no Lensbaby optics available in the Fuji X-Mount.
I mean really, they have a mount for the Samsung NX line already, but no Fuji mount products? It was disappointing for sure. But my disappointment turned to excitement earlier this morning when I can across the latest Fuji rumors post that indicates Lensbaby will be adding X-Mount lenses in the near future.
According to the very short post, the new Lensbaby X-Mount products will be available this upcoming Spring. Unfortunately, that is where the information stops. There are no details about which products will be available in the X-Mount, or anything like that.
I recently was able to try out the new Lensbaby Composer Pro with the Sweet 50 optic, on my Canon system and had a lot of fun with it. But I found it was difficult to manually focus through the OVF (a problem with today’s DSLR bodies is a major lack of manual focus aides via the OVF). I absolutely love manually focusing on my Fuji X-T1, so I bet that my experience would be even better with the Lensbaby on the Fuji system. I look forward to trying it out.
So what are your thoughts, Fuji shooters? Would you welcome a Lensbaby optic into your kit if it was available? If not, why? Leave a comment below and let us know what you think!
