Katerina Plotnikova: “another tale about wonderland”

By Ruth Dunn on March 21st 2013

Katerina Plotnikova is a Russian fine art photographer who welcomes us into her magical lands through the art of photography. Gentle and serene, yet eye catching and powerful, Plotnikova’s photographs capture surreal wonderlands from her imagination.

Born in 1987, Plotnikova has been exploring photography for 5 years. She carefully uses environment, light and colour, as well as the costume, poise and facial expressions of her models to powerfully create mystically captivating photographs.

“Where can I find a pet deer? How do I get to a chair on the tree? How do I make a swing hanging from the sky?” are just some of the types of questions Plotnikova asks herself when conjuring up a new scene.

After creating these incredible photographs at such a young age, it will be interesting to see what Plotnikova has in store for us in the years to come.
