Known as Nois7, German photographer/art director Robert Jahns takes images from the ordinary world and magically transforms those images into a whimsical fantasy world. Then he posts his artwork onto Instagram, where he’s amassed an impressive following. Jahns collaborates with other popular Instagrammers to create each image, which have numerous layers and takes about 2 hours each to create.
This image was a collaboration between Jahns and popular Instagrammer, @jermzlee and his famous pug, Norm.
“I think collaborations are the best way to grow and to get to know great artists in this huge community. It’s a lot of fun!”
At just 14 years old, Jahns, an artist with a passion in drawing, discovered Photoshop. At 15, his dad bought a digital camera and over the next decade or so, the self taught photographer/art director learned both mediums by watching videos, reading tutorials, learning from other photographers and making mistakes.
For inspiration, Jahns gets an image in his head, thinking about the theme, main object, location and colors. Then he scribbles down his idea on paper to get a feeling for the concept and see if it can be done. Finally he takes photos with the idea in mind or collaborates with other IG’ers and pulls all the pieces together for the final image.
