At the intersection of life goals, travel goals and relationship goals, you’ll find Russian photographer Murad Osmann and now wife Nataly Zakharova. The couple, who boasts 3.9 million followers on Instagram, first took the social media site by storm with what began as a personal project for Murad. You’ve likely seen the viral images, each showing the back of Natalia as she led Murad in hand all over the world.
The project first began quite by accident as an impatient Nataly and Murad were vacationing in Barcelona. Frustrated that her then-boyfriend would stop and take photos of everything (we wouldn’t know anything about that, right?), she grabbed Murad’s hand and pulled him forward. Murad, of course, took a photo from that vantage point, and #FollowMeTo was born. That was about two years ago, and since then we’ve followed Natalia and Murad to numerous countries, were witnesses to their wedding and subsequent honeymoon.
Now, the pair has released their first behind the scenes video of how Murad gets the perfect image of Nataly as she pulls him around exotic lands. The footage for the video was taken in 2015, on the couple’s first trip to India near Jaipur, in New Delhi, Varanasi, and Agra.
The video gives you a glimpse of the couple as they take test shots, fight crowds surrounding them, find the right location, the best light, etc. and then Nataly as she dons the beautiful accouterments, hairstyles, and dress of the country. There are no smoke and mirrors or massive equipment setups; it all boils down to a man simply holding in one hand, the hand of his love and in the other, a DSLR, as they seek to satisfy their wanderlust. It’ll stir the wanderlust in you.
