Inspiration: The Headshot Goes Wild with Morten Koldby’s Animal Portraits

By Jules Ebe on March 23rd 2013

Danish photographer Morten Koldby has expanded his commercial work in a wild way – by pursuing a personal project that incorporates lions, and tigers, and bears – oh my! His stunning animal photography puts the best headshot photographer to task. I could only imagine the planning, care, and nerves of steal it took to create these striking portraits. A gorilla with catchlights; that is impressive. They are wild animals after all.

Another great feature that came from this personal project was the resulting collaboration with World Wildlife Organization, an international conservation group that raises funds for existing conservation efforts worldwide. You can see more of Koldby’s images on their new iPad App, WWF Together. Oh yes, and the app is free.

As you can see, as artists our personal interests can sometimes open the door towards fulfilling commissions.
