Grand Theft Auto 5 Timelapse

By Joseph Cha on October 8th 2013

Grand Theft Auto 5 has a lot of impressive qualities. It’s broken a number of records, has an enormous open world map, and has great gameplay and graphics. But one of the most impressive things I’ve seen with GTA5 is this timelapse video.

There are so many great things going on. The shadows move with the sun, the trees and clouds move with the wind, the reflections in the windows change with the moving clouds, and the moon moves! If I was born in the 70’s I’d be yelling “witchcraft!!”

It’s really impressive how far video games have come, and it’s exciting to think about where they’re going. Now I can’t wait for GTA6.

I’m a photographer and cinematographer based in Southern California. When I don’t have a camera in my face I enjoy going to the movies and dissecting the story telling and visual aesthetics.

Totally agree. While technically screenshots and the property of Rockstar. There is no doubt about the level of detail in this game. I’ve only done 5 or so missions as Im overwelmed by everything else.
Telegraph wires swaying in the breeze, leave on the wind, people and traffic seamlessly integrating and a stunning ocean current are all worth of the timelapse treatment

Rockstar games are nothing short of spectacular!
