GoPro announced their latest Hero4 editions early last week, and now they are available for your purchasing pleasure. These truly are the latest and greatest in action cam technology, but the question is, will you be rushing out to get one?

Personally, I don’t have much use for a GoPro in my everyday life or professional shooting style. But I will not lie and say that they don’t appeal to me. I have always wanted one to play with now and then, but have never been able to justify the cost. Unfortunately, that has not changed with these new versions.
That said, if you are a GoPro nut and use these for everything, I can totally see this being a product that you want to upgrade to ASAP. I know I will be seriously considering the new budget “Hero” version, since it fits better with my hobby budget.
You can find all of the new GoPro versions available now over on B&H.

It’s on my wish list…..
the low-light capabilities will hopefully add a new dimension to even (concert/performance) recording. I often find myself using my trusty original HD Hero to add an extra ‘continuity’ angle during unevenly lit concerts or theatrical performances and the extreme dynamic range of the scenes, coupled with pretty abysmal low-light noise means I can only use the footage in dire need – and often in black and white only. Hero 4 promises to deliver supreme low-light… it’s high time to upgrade! :)
I wonder why they raised the price of the lineup by $100 compared to last years. I doubt it’s getting more expensive to make..
If I were going skydiving anytime soon, one would definitely be on my bucket list.
These things are so awesome and they only keep getting better! I’m kinda with you though Anthony. They really only come out occasionally. Still they aren’t expensive and if I was a sports nut I could see myself using these things constantly.
