Fuji Chimes In With New MacroTubes and Firmware Updates
Sony fans aren’t the only people who woke up to a nice surprise this morning. Fuji made some announcements over the night that are sure to put some smiles on quite a few faces.
Fujifilm Announces New X-Series Macro Tubes
Fuji announced two new Macro Tubes: the MCEX-11 and the MCEX-16, for you lovers of getting as close as possible to your subject with maximum magnification. The new Macro Tubes are equipped with electronic contacts, retaining normal Auto Exposure functions and have been designed to blend perfectly with your X series camera’s look and feel.
The best part is that these new macro extension tubes will be very affordable at only $99 a piece and are expected to be available sometime in mid-December.
Major X-T1 Firmware Update
We have been talking about it, Fuji has been talking about it, and now it’s finally here. The major Fuji X-T1 firmware update that we have all been yearning for has dropped (well, is dropping) and it brings with it some great enchancements to the popular X-Series camera.
The new firmware will allow a high speed electronic shutter up to 1/32000, Classic Chrome, AF area selection, better manual video controls, and a natural live view mode that is supposed to emulate an OVF, among many other smaller (but important) feature upgrades.
