First Person View of Extreme Mountain Biking with GoPro

By Joseph Cha on October 22nd 2013

Action sport cameras are an amazing invention because they allow us to see things from the point of view of a person doing extraordinary things. I love watching anything filmed with a Gopro because I can see what professional extreme sport athletes see.

Professional mountain biker Kelly McGarry gives us a first person view on his Red Bull Rampage run. What I saw was a stomach churning bike run that I would never attempt in real life unless I had solid insurance and a bus full of organ donors on stand by.

This video is amazing because you can feel his anticipation before his start. You hear his name announced, you see him making trail decisions, you see his flip, and you even hear the crowd roar when he lands his flips. Watching Kelly navigate through the hair-thin trail with 100ft drops on both sides gave me a lot of anxiety. Let’s just say, I’m glad he’s on the Mountain Bike, and I’m just sitting here watching.
