Sigma’s latest art line lens, the 30mm 1.4 (No Not the 35mm 1.4) is still a little ways off from being available in the US. Nikon Rumors just got their hands on some shots taken with this new lens and they look great!
The 30mm 1.4 DC HSM Art Lens for Nikon is designed for APS-C (Crop Sensor) cameras and is also compatible with Sigma’s new USB dock. I am actually rather stuck between getting myself one of these 30mm 1.4 lenses or a one of the larger 35mm 1.4. I mean my D300s is a crop sensor body, so the 30mm is what its designed for. But at the same time if I ever want to upgrade to a Full Frame body then I will be out of luck. It is also quite a bit cheaper than the 35mm 1.4. You can pre-order this lens from B&H for $499, not a bad deal at all.
Anyways I have included a few of the images in this post for you to check out. You can see the whole set over on Nikon Rumors or the Full Sized Jpegs on NR’s Flickr page.
