Attend the First Ever Erik Almas Workshop in the US & Help Build a School in Ghana

By Hanssie on December 16th 2014

Tis the season!

This is the time of year where family and friends come together, share wonderful food, laughs, memories, and gifts. A time, where hopefully, people are in the mood to give and to help people that are less fortunate.

If you’re looking for a worthy cause, let me introduce you to Pencils of Promise. It is a cause that commercial photographer Erik Almas became passionate about after reading the book, “The Promise of a Pencil” by Adam Braun. Inspired by Adam’s story, Erik knew he had to do his part in some way and committed himself to raising $25,000 to help the charity build a school in Ghana this holiday season.

In order to raise this money, Erik needs our help. He is only $1600 away from his goal (at the time of this writing). To raise the full amount, Erik has generously donated his time  out of his busy schedule and his art. He is offering a very rare full day workshop, prints, or a coaching session which 100% of the proceeds will go directly to Pencils of Promise. This is Erik’s first workshop in the US and his second ever, so this is a unique opportunity to both further your education and help children in need of an education.

Watch the video below for more details:

Pencils of Promise’s ultimate goal is to build 25 schools this holiday season. To find out more about this organization, click here. For more Erik Almas goodness, check out his workshop DVD On Aspects of Image Making, available in the SLR Lounge store HERE.
