I was scrolling through my news feed this weekend and I saw a trending video about a couple’s first dance. Since this is one of my favorite parts of a wedding, of course, I clicked on the BuzzFeed article. The article referred to the bride and groom, Justin Willman and Jillian Sipkins, as the “Drunk History” couple. Having seen this video also trending earlier in the week, I clicked over to that. What ensued was 12 minutes of adorable hilarity and impressive production value. I love it when a bride and groom gets creative and does something out of the ordinary.
Photographer Jillian Sipkins and her now husband, Magician Justin Willman didn’t want to answer the question, “How did you two meet?” over and over again during their wedding festivities last weekend, so they made their own version of Comedy Central’s “Drunk History.” If you’re unfamiliar, Drunk History invites an all-star cast to retell famous events in history, but first they get hammered; all the while actors re-enact the narrative. As you can imagine, history gets a little skewed when alcohol gets put in the mix.
In the video, which was shown at their rehearsal dinner, Jillian and Justin drink a bottle of Jameson, some wine and a half a bottle of vodka, tell their history while actors re-enact their story. Jillian met Justin when she was photographing an event where he was performing. After a few chance encounters, well, you could say that the rest is history.

The video’s quality, which is superb, and watching the couple get more and more inebriated makes this a fun watch. It’s not a surprise the video went viral with over 2.1 million views at the time of writing. On Thursday, Justin posted their wedding dance on his YouTube page, which also went viral with almost 1.5 million views. In it, the couple incorporates some magic in the well-choreographed number. You can see both videos below, and trust me, they are quite entertaining.
(Just to warn you, the video has a few f-bombs. Apparently, the bride “curses like a sailor” after a few drinks).
