DJI Announces New Phantom 3

The world’s most well known consumer quadcopter line just got some serious upgrades. Officially announced yesterday, the new DJI Phantom 3 comes in two flavors, one of which features advanced 4K capture at a very affordable price.

The Phantom 3 Advanced, the ‘lower-end’ version of the new Phantom 3 duo features a high quality 60 FPS 1080p capture from the gimbal mounted camera. This comes in at just under $1,000, making it an incredibly good value for anyone looking to break into quadcopters without a huge investment.

The more advanced Phantom 3 Pro improves on the recording abilities of the Advanced version and gives you 4K capture, and it is only ~$1300. This makes both versions of the new Phantom 3 very desirable.

Both Phantom 3 Quadcopters feature wireless control via Tablet/Mobile, meaning you get a live view from your camera as your fly it around to your heart’s content. They even reportedly give you a full 25 minutes or so of flying time per charge; not a bad run at all.

    Lol, using it in a church, at a wedding. I won’t need to set my camera to silent shutter so.
    Although you might use it to corral those camera laden guests who jump in to get ‘the shot’. just thought.

    These look great. I have been waiting to get one so I just might get this one. Now it can fly indoors, which is great but with the small sensor, the picture is not going to look good so if I do buy one it will be for outdoor filming. Remember, manufacturers always tell you what is great about the product but the never tell you the cons; those you have to figure out yourself.

    A lot of pissed off Phantom 2 Vision Plus owners out there because they couldn’t wait for these. I’m one of them. I just love how these new ones are priced and I just wish I had waited.
