Diving Underwater with Zemotion | BTS with the Motherland Chronicles

By Jules Ebe on July 23rd 2013

Zhang Jingna, otherwise known as ‘zemotion’, is a young New York based photographer known for her fashion forward style and ethereal feel. A personal project, known as the Motherland Chronicles, has been a way for this professional photographer to explore her craft on her own terms.

Her most recent adventure resulted in the image Dive. It was also the first time Jingna actually shot underwater.

“I know a number of people who’ve attempted underwater model photography. I’ve heard about the difficulties, I’ve imagined it, I’ve even experienced it as a model once.”

Nevertheless, exploration is the point of the exercise.

The housing flooded, so the behind the scenes look is a little short, yet still pretty cool. And check out that rig! It is larger than most small house pets.
