Multi-tasking technology is nothing new these days where my phone is also my camera, an email device, my calendar, my lifeline to all that is happening with my Facebook friends, a dictionary, a radio…an electronic leash, etc. But this new crowd-funded self defense tool takes technology to the next level.
It’s pepper spray, but better…because sometimes you just need a camera with your mace, along with a direct line to emergency services. The Defender is a device that, when activated, acts as all three in one little package. Advertised as the “first smart personal protection system,” the Defender will take a photo, sound an alarm and pepper spray an attacker all at once. The Defender then connects to your smartphone, sends the picture and your GPS location to a 24/7 monitoring service. The device also has a medical alert feature.

The medical alert feature is for the benefit of the turd that tried to mess with you. Awww, did I make you cry? Don’t worry, the medics are on their way. And so are the cops.
Good for those who need it, not for me though.
Looks like a great product idea.
Interesting. Not sure it’s something for me personally, but I can appreciate the innovation.
