Dead Camera Lenses Made Into Sleek Bracelets

By Jules Ebe on July 13th 2013

Wondering what to do with your old, broken lenses. Why not make them into jewelry?

A new collection designed by Stefaan duPont over at SDPNT, feature unique bracelets made from lens parts. The cuffs are not reproductions or casts, they are actually made from the shells of broken lenses. Some of the cuffs are made from vintage pieces, giving them that extra design feature that hipsters everywhere will be clamoring for. Okay – maybe you can add me into that mix as well.

The lines of these bracelets are slick and modern, showing just how exquisite the design and markings on vintage lenses truly are.

A much better use for old lenses then, say, a coffee mug *takes sip from Canon 24mm*.

Every vintage bracelet is unique and the designer claims they will not be duplicated. The store opened for the first time on July 12, 2013.

Curious how well they will sell?

As of the writing of this article, all but one style was sold out – even with the $225 – $290 price tags. Hopefully more will come in stock soon.

I bet all those broken lenses hidden in attics are about to hit Amazon and eBay en-masse.

Until Next Time . . .
