Cute or Creepy? Man Photoshops Himself Into Girlfriend’s Childhood Pictures

By Hanssie on April 28th 2014

What romantics do for true love. It’s the subject of Hollywood movies, sappy songs and epic poems. One lovestruck man, though, has taken his devotion to the next level and has turned to Photoshop to express his love for his girlfriend.

Taking a handful of her childhood photos, Wan, a wedding photographer in Zhengzhou, central China’s Henan province, lovingly photoshopped himself into each photograph to celebrate their 4 year anniversary.

I am unable to meet you when you were little, but I can come to your childhood and play with you. I want to send my love letter to little you, but without a time machine, the only thing I can do is come into your dream to meet you

The images show him “interacting” with his girlfriend’s younger self, by choreographing himself to fit seamlessly into each photo. He then posted the photos on Sina Weibo (Chinese Twitter).

People were torn over the romance factor of this gesture. So I’ll let you decide for yourself.

Now, I’ll admit, that having a boyfriend who is adept in Photoshop could come in handy, but I can’t decide if this attempt to express someone’s devotion is awkwardly creepy or endearing and sentimental.  What do you think?

As long as his girlfriend finds it romantic, it really doesn’t matter what I think. :D Not something I would do, but I give him props for creativity.

The photos felt mostly creepy to me. Probably because he appears to be showing a romantic interest in a child with the puckered lips etc. However, the reality of it is that if his wife doesn’t find it creepy then it doesn’t really matter what I think about it.

I also say creepy. Would have been so much better in my opinion if he incorporated his childhood images. Granted, he’d be limited by what was actually shot of him in the past.
