How to Cull Images in Lightroom 3

By Pye Jirsa on May 16th 2011

(The Lightroom video tutorial in this post is just under the introductory text below. The working files for this article can be downloaded below.)

In this Lightroom video tutorial, we are going to review our catalog and begin discussing the process of sorting and narrowing down our images or “culling.”

Like every area in Lightroom, there are tons of different ways to perform the same task. So, we will review different methods of culling (via stars, flags and color labels), and then in the following video we will tell you exactly how our culling workflow works.

still have the same problem with this video. By listening to the voice though you can pretty much figure that out.

Too bad that the photo files is not available any more. It would have helped quite a bit…

I really wish this video was complete. Culling is a struggle right now and I would have loved to hear how you do it. Also, the exercise files are not available to download anymore. Regardless, I’m learning a lot from your tutorial videos. Thank you.

Bummer. I don’t know if it’s just me, but this video cuts off at 3:53 just as you were starting to talk about picks, unpicks, and rejects. I’m going to download the catalog file so I can follow along with the rest, but this is one of the videos I was most looking forward to. :(
