I loved this submission too! I think there are a couple of things you could improve upon here. For starters,  I would have probably left this out of the frame.

An image like this to me seems more like it should be in landscape orientation only because there are parts of the view we don’t see that I think would help show off the location more.

If you really wanted to stick with portrait orientation then you could have gone in for a tighter crop and used the background to compress.  Kind of like this:

In this scenario I would have tried doing a Brenizer Pano stitch – it would have been perfect for this landscape and still would have allowed you to shoot with the same depth of field.

I honestly don’t think lighting was bad here – he could maybe use a bit in his face but it doesn’t detract from the image since men can handle more shadow.

I would have maybe had her go in for a bit more of a dip or bend in the back. Right now her arm is super straight and so is her back which makes for a low energy pose, yet they are kissing and interacting so it should require a bit more energy.

I really like this picture a lot!  However, I did notice that something unnatural is catching my attention to the left of them in the woods.  Probably would have helped to move them over to block that, Photoshop it out, or move to the right.  Love it though!
