    I feel like the whipping motion would have been more exciting with a slight twist to it. I also think that the ambient light might have been a little to bright and interfering with the subjects’ illumination a bit.

    Lastly, shooting at 115mm on a 70D doesn’t give you much room for lights around them; I would have shot at 28mm or wider, and gotten closer if necessary.

    One thing to watch out for is lights that pulse on a cycle. It’s not that distracting here, but it can be. One option is to pan even slower, use a slower shutter speed, so that the flicker blends together more.
